Success isn't just about talent—it's about opportunity, mentorship, and hard work. At SkilLeo, we take pride in helping students bridge the gap between learning and real-world application. In this blog, we share the story of Aarav Patel, a SkilLeo intern who successfully transitioned into a full-time Software Engineer role at a leading IT firm.
Aarav was a final-year B.Tech student with a passion for solving problems through code. Like many, he had the theoretical knowledge but lacked industry experience. That’s when he came across SkilLeo’s internship programs and decided to enroll in our Full-Stack Development course under the Project-Based Learning model.
He chose SkilLeo because of our hands-on training, real client projects, and the chance to work with experienced mentors who have worked in top-tier tech companies.
From day one, Aarav was immersed in real project scenarios. He learned to:
Build dynamic websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React
Connect frontend with backend using Node.js and MongoDB
Follow Git version control and manage code through GitHub
Participate in stand-up meetings and use Agile methodology
Communicate professionally with team leads and clients
What set SkilLeo apart was its project-first approach—students were treated like junior developers, not just interns.
Throughout his internship, Aarav received weekly feedback sessions. He was guided on how to write clean code, troubleshoot bugs, and optimize performance. He also got help refining his resume and LinkedIn profile to reflect real skills—not just theory.
Aarav shared,
“My mentor at SkilLeo didn’t just teach me tech; they prepared me for the workplace—how to communicate, how to manage deadlines, and how to solve problems under pressure.”
At the end of the internship, Aarav had a portfolio of 3 client-level projects, a recommendation letter, and confidence in his skills. He applied for a junior software engineer role at a growing IT startup—and aced the technical interview thanks to his hands-on experience.
Within a week, he received his first offer letter—and within a month, he was working full-time as a Software Engineer.
Today, Aarav is working on large-scale enterprise applications and mentoring juniors at his company. He remains connected to SkilLeo as a guest speaker and encourages students to take internship experiences seriously.
Aarav’s story is just one among many. SkilLeo is committed to:
Providing real-time internship experiences
Offering mentorship from industry experts
Equipping students with job-ready portfolios
Creating a launchpad for IT careers
